Immunoglobulin IgM (IgM) Test

Immunoglobulin M (IgM) Test is done to know the amount of IgM in the blood. IgM is one if the many isotypes of immunoglobulin also known as "antibodies". Antibodies are formed naturally in the body as a reaction after exposure to any infection or foreign body. IgM is the first antibody that is made. It is the largest type of antibodies present in the human body. By detecting it's levels we can tell if the body encountered the infection for the first time.
